Data volume is one of the most critical issues in delivering software over the Internet. Large downloads result in long download times, poor user friendliness, and high drop-out rates as well as high Internet traffic costs and bandwidth requirements.

NOSSO^® reduces the size of software that is already compressed (e.g. by common compression with ZIP, RAR, CAB, etc.) by an additional 40% to 70% or more. NOSSO^® is able to compress any application, game software or digital content. Thus NOSSO^® is a sophisticated software tool that makes it easier to provide even large applications or content via download.

NOSSO^® comes with various features and fulfills all requirements to ensure highest user friendliness. By means of sophisticated compression algorithms, NOSSO^® creates significantly smaller file sizes that make the distribution of your software fast and easy.

Features of NOSSO^® include:

• Full operating system support. NOSSO^® is available for all operating systems, e.g. Windows, Mac, Linux, Solaris and other Unix derivates. Our technologies are fully compatible with new Windows Vista.

• Full platform support. NOSSO^® is available for all platforms (including also x64).

• Improved usability. NOSSO^® offers a new look and design to achieve higher user friendliness. For your customers, NOSSO^® works fully automatic - no client side application or interaction of your customers is required. Using the new customizable design features, however, you can give your customers options to interact, e.g. the option to decide whether they want to re-compose (extract) your product right away or later using the Pause/Resume/Exit buttons on the re-composition dialog.

• Customizable Look. NOSSO^® gives you complete freedom designing the re-composition dialog (GUI). There are hardly any limitations in terms of design and content (e.g. integration of your company's logo) for all dialogs and the GUI.

Functionalities

• Multi-volume creator / chunk creator. NOSSO^® is available with multi-volume creator that splits your software into smaller chunks. Chunk after chunk is downloaded and each chunk is re-composed (extracted) immediately. Thus re-composition is started while the download is still performing and the total time for your customers to get access to your software is shortened significantly.

• Virtual CD Delivery (VCDD^©). VCDD^© gives you the possibility to provide your customers with a (physical) copy of your software without the process of conventional shipment. All your customer has to do is to insert a blank CD into his CD writer and press the download button. VCDD^© fully automatic creates an ISO image after download and burns a CD on client side - the user only has to take out the ready-to-use CD and has your software immediately and permanently available on CD.

  

• NOSSO^® Installer^©. The NOSSO^® Installer^© functionality combines three steps into one. Download, Extraction and Installation are parallel und thus your software is directly installed from the web without buffering on hard drive. This intelligent installation tool furthermore identifies which content is actually required on client side and only installs content that is needed. The on-demand installation ensures that only required data is downloaded which allows a more flexible and much faster download process.

• NOSSO^® Updater^©. The updater functionality within NOSSO^® enables you to generate update files of your software independent from us at your facility. By matching the original and updated software on byte level and only extracting differences of the files, delta-updates are created fully automatically. Benefits include an easy and fast update creation process.

• NOSSO^® Protector^©. The NOSSO^® Protector^© functionality is a sophisticated solution to protect your software against unauthorized use, unauthorized software duplication or code manipulation. The NOSSO^® Protector^© creates wrapped files that can only be unlocked with a specific license key or product activation code that you have provided to your customer. The solution makes it also possible to track and manage your products. The NOSSO^® Protector^© enables you to have complete control of your whole download distribution process and use of your software and prevent your software from unauthorized use.

VCDD^©, NOSSO^® Updater^©, NOSSO^® Installer^© and NOSSO^® Protector^© are also available as stand-alone solutions.

You have to create the size-optimized build only once using NOSSO^® Program. NOSSO^® has no influence on your existing creation or installation processes. As NOSSO^® creates self-extracting files no application is required on client side.
